What we Do:

UNISON is the biggest Trade Union in the UK with over 1.3 million members.
We organise and represent workers across the public, voluntary and utility sectors. We have members in Health, Local Government, Schools, Voluntary Organisations, Police & Fire and across Public Utilities like Water and Power.

As a Trade Union, although we employ staff to help deliver our aims, we depend on members organising and volunteering to become workplace reps/stewards and lay officers in the union.

Our key focus is on delivering fair and equal treatment of our members at work, ensuring workplace safety and wellbeing and improving the quality of life of our members. As a Public Service union, we have a desire to see those services improve and expand, both for the benefit of our members who work in them and the wider community.

Our services extend to a wide range of local charity or third sector employers, ensuring our members receive the support they need. Our There for You charity is unique to UK Trades Unions, offering some support to members in difficult times.

Negotiating

Our services include negotiating on behalf of members with employers, providing guidance and support in various work-related matters, and advocating for fair treatment in the workplace.

Organizing

Dundee City UNISON assists members in organizing efforts, offering resources, guidance, and assistance in collective actions to ensure the rights and well-being of workers are upheld.
