Dundee UNISON Delegates Make Their Mark at National Delegates Conference
This year’s National Delegates Conference in Brighton was a fantastic experience for Dundee UNISON. Tracey , Maggie , Nadine, Alyson,Jim and Arthur travelled down to take part in the Local Government Conference before joining delegates from across the country at National Delegates Conference.
It was a brilliant opportunity to represent Dundee, share our views, and be part of the wider UNISON family.
A special highlight was Nadine, our newly elected Welfare Officer, attending her first conference as a delegate and making her first speech in front of thousands of members. She was absolutely amazing and made Dundee UNISON stand out with her confidence, passion and commitment. We couldn’t have been prouder watching her take to the stage.
I also had the opportunity to speak on a motion. was just four speakers away from getting up when a point of order was raised, which meant I didn’t get the chance on this occasion. Maggie McGuire was also due to speak, only a few speakers away, but unfortunately another point of order prevented that from happening too.
Both Jim and Arthur moved motions during conference, ensuring Dundee’s voice was heard and represented.
Overall, it was a memorable and inspiring conference. It was especially wonderful to see Nadine take her first steps as a delegate and speaker. Her contribution showed the strength, passion and future of Dundee UNISON.
